Homeschool vs Public School Introduction

A recent report stated “SAT reading scores for the high school class of 2011 were the lowest on record, and combined reading and math scores fell to their lowest point since 1995.” This brings into focus the need to look more closely at how our public schools are educating our children. The report went on to say “The reading scores, which stand at 497, are noticeably lower than just six years ago, when they stood at 508. And it’s just the second time in the last 20 years that reading scores have dropped so precipitously in a single year.”
With the economic environment our public schools are existing in these statistics are likely to get worse. Funding is disappearing as our federal, state, and local economies continue to struggle under a failing economy.
As a parent, we need to look at the alternatives that we can take to turn these statistics around and make sure that our children are ready to excel when they reach adulthood!
